How Lot Size Shapes Foothill Living

One of the top desires when living in the foothills is privacy or room to move. It’s for this reason that larger lots are more common in foothill communities. The need for space for wells and septic also influences lot size as counties work to preserve clean water. There are some communities who offer public water and waste services which allows planned development.

Lot size alone doesn’t determine an advantage in a foothills property as slope or grade, orientation, and tree coverage matter just as much. Some properties offer room to roam. Others offer useable outdoor space. Still others offer views that go on forever.

Understanding how you as a buyer want to use your land is more important than acreage on paper.
